The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Black Rock Station serves as gateway to the the Black Rock Desert-High Rock Canyon Emigrant Trails National Conservation Area (NCA). Here visitors can learn about the beauty of the Black Rock Desert through interpretive panels and maps. Displays cover a wide range of topics, including the area’s natural and cultural resources, recreational opportunities, and important safety information. In addition, the station houses a fire engine building, bunkhouse, warehouse and small administrative office.
“The Station serves as a guide, a reference, for present and future generations in their personal quest of adventure and exploration,” said Black Rock Field Manager Rolando Mendez.
